| Praising of the Star Gods |
Created by yours truly
I wanted to create this mission really to let people know that the C'tan are worshipped as Gods not only by the Necrons and that cults to the Star Gods are not that uncommon and have been encountered before.Ok this mission will be interesting if nothing else:
Attacker: Choose from DeamonHunters, Imperial Guard, Space Marines, and Sisters of Battle
Defender: Necrons, Traitor Guard
Attack Overview: A Xeno summoning ritual has been reported. Your mission is to stop the ritual and destroy all enemy forces.
Defender Overview: You are creating a ritual to honor the Star-Gods. On the horizon you see an Imperial Force coming to stop you, but you know that the Star-Gods will not abandon you.
Scenario Special Rules: Deep Strike, Reserves, Victory Points.
Set-Up
1. Ok 250 points chosen from the Codex: EoT 'The Lost and the Damned'. You may take anything excluding Demons and Mutants. So you may have Traitors, and an Aspiring Champion. These forces are the ones creating the ritual. Their deployment zone is at the center of the board and 6 inches out in all directions. So it will be a circular deployment zone. At least one unit must form a circle. This is your ritual unit. During the game they may not do ANYTHING. All they can do is sit and look pretty while they praise the Star Gods.
2. The Imperial Player then chooses a board edge and deploys 6" into the table. Making sure his/her forces are at least 15" away from any Traitor units.
3. The Necrons then take the opposite board edge and may deploy 6" in.
4. Deep Strike units are held in reserve.
(NOTE: This is set up for a 4'X4' board if you have a 6'X4' then you may increase the Marine and Necron Deployment zones to 12")
5. Imperial player has first turn.
Mission Objectives:
If at the end of the game the Ritual Unit is above 50% strength then the Defender recieves +100 Victory points. If it is below 50%, running from the board, or destroyed then the Attacker recieves +100 Victory points. Otherwise Victory Points count.
Game lasts 6 turns.
Any Questions?
EDIT: If you want to make the mission harder for the Necrons then have their entire force held in reserve. Also note that the Traitor guard are apart of the Necron force so come out of their points allowance. For Example: 250points of traitor + 1750 points of Necrons=2,000 for the defender. Which then means that the Attacker may have 2,000 points.

Well its pretty good. The only thing I see wrong with it is that its basically a bunker assault with the LATD acting as the bunker , also if both armies are deployed opposite of each other 6" in wont it be kinda easy to kill one unit of traitor guard considering thye get first turn and they will be between their force and yours? Just a thought, cool idea though I would like to hear more scenario ideas.

Its more like the "Stop the Ritual" mission from the Deamonhunters codex. I think you should let the necrons have the first turn, otherwise lascannons, and plasmacannons would easily pick apart the circle right from the start =/. Its a nice mission tho. One question: how many centimeters is 4´? And does 4´ meen 4 feet?

Its good, but I doubt that necrons would care if their were HUMANS worhisphing their gods. They cant tell the difference all they know is that they are another race to harvest....

Variation could revolve around a bunch of necrons doing some work that (if successfull) will eventuate with a pylon surfacing at the completion of turn six. That would give a bit of incentavation to both sides.
I support the idea of the necrons getting fist go or it could be all over by the end of the 1st turn shooting phase.
Other tools could be the staggered introduction of the attacking forces or the use of a much smaller but (brain's gone numb- cannot remember the right words...) constantly replenishing defence.
No great attachment to the above though- haven't played enough of the scenarios to give definitive suggestions.

Is there a way to include the 'Cultists' in this scenario?

They could be the dudes ritualising on the hill. If they are successful 5 are consumed by the appearance of a C'Tan (1 for each wound). If 5 aren't alive by the end of (say) round two, C'Tan cannot appear. If C'Tan doesn't appear he cannot bring his Necron mates with him.
So the scenerio could look like this:
250 points of cultists are set up around an alter in the centre of the board. The attacking force set-up within 6 inches of a short board edge.
Defender- at least ten cultists must stay stationed at the altar - encircling it. At the end of turn two if five of those ten are alive a C'Tan can appear at the altar. The defender can then deploy the balance of their troops within 12 inches of the opposite table edge to the attackers deployment. Deep strike units can do so.
This will give the attacker enough time to chew up as many cultists as possible, a C'Tan looking pretty vulnerable in the middle of the table surrounded by the remaining cultists. And the Necron Commander has only four turns to get it all together and beat up the attacker.
